Hard to say, the recent Expedition 33 game really upped the style for RPGs, I'm curious to see what the next Persona and Dragon Quest game will do.

These are awesome examples! Persona and Dragon Quest have always set the bar higher for storytelling and gameplay in RPGs.Demonskeith wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 6:11 am Hard to say, the recent Expedition 33 game really upped the style for RPGs, I'm curious to see what the next Persona and Dragon Quest game will do.

I'm sure we'll see more VR based RPGs coming out. Most action RPGs have been the most popular games, but there's been plenty of turn based RPGs that have been doing well. Expedition 33 proves that there's still an audience for turn based and it makes me happy! I'm hoping Final Fantasy will return to turn based combat in the future, maybe at the very least keep it to spin off titles like they've been doing. I'd like to see another game similar to Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, just have the card system more fleshed out though.
