I picked up and played leaf green while on my honeymoon, just reached the water gym. Mt. Moon was a pain to go through.

Nice, yeah Mt. Moon can be a pain but did you pick up any repels before entering the cave? I think in Red and Blue you couldn't buy repels before going to Mt. Moon but they changed that in Yellow and in Leaf Green. Also do you plan on taking on Misty before your rival and Nugget Bridge?

I forgot the repels, kicking myself that I didn't and didn't have escape rope either. Sigh. I think I will take on Misty first.

Oof yeah that had to be brutal. I know in Gen 1 there is a specific path that speed runners take that has less encounters. Though this isn't in Gen 3. Thankfully you made it through though! Good luck with Misty!

Taking a small break with it, but will play the game some more soon!

Taking a break is cool. I haven't beat the Elite four yet... I was thinking about grinding a bit before doing so. Thankfully the VS Seeker exists in the game so you can re battle trainers! I was going to focus more on my Pokedex but I think I might worry about that after beating the Elite Four for the first time since the Sevvi Islands fully unlock after that.

Ah okay lol, my wife and I both decided to get Leaf Green. Our friend has all the versions, including the foreign language ones. :V He's got OCD when it comes to Pokemon and likes to purchase the different versions of games Nintendo releases. I picked Leaf Green since I'm a Venusaur fan and green is my favorite color. Also Porygon is much cheaper in Leaf Green, it's 6500 coins as oppose to Fire Red where it costs 9999 coins.

Huh, I wonder why it costs so many more coins?

I think they wanted Red/Fire Red to be the more challenging game? I'm not really sure lol. It was the same in Red and Blue versions. I think Yellow is the same as Blue where Porygon only costs 6500. You can use the nugget bridge trick to get a huge amount of nuggets by losing against the rocket grunt at the end of the bridge and then sell them and purchase enough coins to get Porygon. That's what I did to get it.
