Miss about old RPGs
What is one thing you miss about old RPGs that isn't in modern ones?

I like the difficulty and grinding, I know not everyone likes grinding in a RPG but man it was always satisfying when you would finally beat that boss you were stuck on after grinding for a bit.

I miss the more open world exploring and freedom of travel with ships and airships. RPGs these days seem so stuffy.

I miss that as well too. There's lots of open world games, but you usually just end up traveling via other means. I loved the SNES era of Final Fantasy games, even though they were limited to what could be done controlling the airship in Final Fantasy VI felt amazing!Demonskeith wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 7:38 am I miss the more open world exploring and freedom of travel with ships and airships. Nothing more fun coming across a very small town/cave to explore while flying or sailing around.Ravenfreak wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 11:55 pmI miss that as well too.
