Final Fantasy VIII

Post by Ravenfreak »

This is another Final Fantasy game that I've started but never finished! I think I stopped playing right when I needed to rescue Renoa, not really sure why I've stopped playing though. I caught onto the card game pretty fast, many people don't like this one because of the card game mechanics. My wife isn't a fan of the card game, so she hates VIII because of that. I own the game on the original Playstation but I was playing it on my Switch since I also own it on the Switch. Also I'm not a fan of Squall's name, I prefer his name in Kingdom Hearts but meh.

The game is fine. You will need to choose well your GF to defeat different bosses. You will need to do proper grinding before hitting the last straw of the game since monsters there are quite weak and you will spend lots of time trying to lvl up. SEED garden seems to be the best option there.

The card game is one of my favourite parts! XD

I haven't completed this game yet but I got pretty far into it, using (if I remember correctly) a magazine to help find GF's to use. I loved those too. Back in the day those animations were so damn cool, even as repetitive as they were lol.

It's great to see I'm not the only one who likes the card game. xD It didn't take me long to figure out how to play it, though since it's been a while since I've played FFVIII I'll have to remember how to play the card game again if I do play the game again. :V

I really liked Final Fantasy VIII. The junction system was unique, and the story had a mix of romance, mystery, and time-travel twists that kept me engaged.

Final Fantasy VIII is among the few games that people either like or hate, and the card game is definitely an issue most would encounter. The card game adds its own unique twist , but I can really see why it may turn off some others.

I played it on and off till I finally got a guide book and beat it all, the game is decent enough, but I wasn't a fan of it. Too much love story to it.

I'm a hopeless romantic so I like love stories lol. But I can see others not liking it if it's not their thing, that's fine of course!

Yep, each their own. But I also don't like how they turned magic into items as well, seem like a strange system to put in.
