This is an RPG I've been meaning to play on my Genesis. It's a hack and slash RPG but it's got random encounters so you don't see the enemies walking on the screen like you do in most hack and slash games. The soundtrack is phenomenal as well! Though it's not as good as Beyond Oasis IMO it still looks like tons of fun! Have you ever played this game before?

That's very interesting, wonder why they did it half old school rpg and yet open hack and slash in a sandbox like battle?

I suppose they wanted to change the formula up a bit. I wonder if there are any other RPGs that do this too? It's a interesting change for sure.

I love to see and play them, though sped up so I don't have to wait so long for the battle to start.

Thank god emulators exist lol. Makes playing these older games a bit easier IMO, though I do prefer to play Sonic rom hacks on a real Genesis lol.

I do want to get a old classic console to play old games again, but I think ROMs would better handle my current gameplay, fast and quick.
Yeah and a good number of these old school RPGs were very difficult! Let me know if you do play Sword of Vermillion and post your updates here if you'd like!
