Earthbound is a funny one where it gets tons of fan love, just no love from Nintendo. As opposed to like Wild Arms that has neither.Ravenfreak wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2026 11:16 pm Wild Arms and Earthbound come to mind. I know an unofficial English translation exists for Mother 3 but it would be cool to get it here someday but I highly doubt it.
Never heard of it, but looks like a DS gem that I need to pick up.
I have bad news: I have it and it’s the definition of mid. For the most part, it doesn’t do anything wrong, but outside of being set in the real world, it doesn’t do anything memorable.Demonskeith wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2026 7:22 am Never heard of it, but looks like a DS gem that I need to pick up.
Ah one of those games, I'll steer clear of it then.Grungie wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2026 8:57 amI have bad news: I have it and it’s the definition of mid. Ironically the worst part of the game is the airship battles that the game is infamous for. Later on the game introduces altitude levels and the enemies don’t scale properly. Your ship doesn’t level up, so you have to get better equipment for it, but that’s only if your next destination is a new town. If it’s a dungeon, you’re SOL. Get annihilated.
I bought it back in 2010 and I still haven’t beaten the game despite getting pretty far into it. I bought it despite seeing the middling reviews thinking it might have been misunderstood because people weren’t fond of classic turn based games at the time, but no. Those reviews were right on the money.
