Phantasy Star
The very first Phantasy Star game was released on the Sega Master System and it was Sega's answer to Square's Final Fantasy. The first game is a dungeon crawler, I've played it a tad bit but didn't really get too far. Maybe someday I will go back and try to beat the game. At least these days we have the internet so I can look up maps, back in the day people had to rely on drawing their own maps which probably made it even more fun and engaging. Have you ever played this game before? Fun fact about the Japanese version, it has a FM soundtrack since the Mark iii which is the Japanese Master System has a special FM chip that our consoles don't have.

Phantasy star is freaking amazing! You all should give it a go if you haven't yet! I own a Sega Mark III and man that FM soundtrack really makes the game even better. I had to draw up maps when I first played the game but I lost them years ago.
Re: Phantasy Star
Never owned Sega and never heard of the game called Phantasy Star. Is Phantasy Star Online same as Phantasy Star?

Re: Phantasy Star
I've played Phantasy Star, the original one, and it is really amazing how difficult it was without any online assistance in mapping. It was indeed fun and interesting drawing my own maps, though.

I've played Phantasy Star...oh wait, nope. That was the later game, the Online game that was on the surface of a planet or a space ship? I forget, it's been a while. I was surprised that it was an 8-bit classic (not the newer online game). I didn't realize this title goes back this far!
