Should we make a section for Tabletop RPGs?
Someone over on Forum Promotion gave me the idea to possibly branch out and add Tabletop RPG discussions to the forum. It could bring in a new audience too, I'm more familiar with video game RPGs but I know how to play Dungeons and Dragons at least and could do research on other games too. I'd like to hear some feedback on this before I decide to implement it or not.
Re: Should we make a section for Tabletop RPGs?
I believe that Tabletop RPGs could be an excellent choice that could attract a new audience. It could also be a chance to get to know about different kinds of RPGs.
Re: Should we make a section for Tabletop RPGs?
This could include a miniature sections creations with plans guides tutorials on how to make and paint. Could be a fantastic option because rp covers this too.

Re: Should we make a section for Tabletop RPGs?
Thanks for the responses so far! I'm going to keep this thread open for another day to see if I get anymore responses but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and add the section after I update the forum over the weekend. (It's not my weekend yet, I have one more day of work.)

Need any help coming up with names for the nodes/forums? You helped me out over at forum ProMotion finding them plugins.

Re: Should we make a section for Tabletop RPGs?
I would recommend you add a section, after all, old people like me get confused when we see RPG, and realize it's not ttRPG, but vRPG. I know I could add some discussion points here.
I would probably keep with the same theme you have going with your naming convention though. For the video games, you've to 8-bit, 16-bit, etc, why not just use something that screams analog, like Pen & Paper or something. In my personal experience I wouldn't recommend breaking the board up into genres just yet, you'll end up with a lot of empty boards. By far, the most popular and well known ttRPG is Dungeons & Dragons. But there's literally thousands of other games, including my favorites, Shadow Run (Cyberpunk/Science Fiction) and Big Eyes Small Mouth (multi-genre). Oh, and my new possible favorite Fabula Ultima (a jRPG recreation), although, I'm still reading the rule book, but I think that this game could be a star over here on this site, because it literally recreates the feeling of the jRPG environment, but just for Table Top role playing.

I really like these! But I think I will have one section for now, I wouldn't want too many subforums and they end up being empty like Senkusha mentioned above. I will definitely keep these in mind though thank you for your input everyone!T3HHAERT wrote: Fri Jul 04, 2025 8:40 pm The Tavern Discussion
