Recently Niantic sold their gaming department to Scopely, and thus Pokemon Go will now be under control of Scopely. What does this mean for players? Well, expect to potentially start paying more money for items and passes in the game. Scopely has been known to make games pay to win, so I suspect they will do the same thing to Pokemon Go too eventually. What are your thoughts on this?

Re: Scopely Will Now Own Pokemon Go
Welp some dataminers recently went through the code of Pokemon Go. And it doesn't seem great. They've seen mentions of different ad platforms, so sadly I think Pokemon Go will end up like other Scopely games where there's going to be intrusive ads popping up left and right sometime in the future.
This is what I was afraid of...

Yikes sounds like scopely might actually end up killing Pokemon Go! Let's hope that actually doesn't happen though!

Acquiring Niantic's gaming arm for about $3.5 billion is a staggering amount. I’m glad that Scopely has assured the diehard fans that the core experience of Pokemon Go will always be preserved
