I just got the crown from Marsh Cave and the no encounters feature really did make this cave easy lol. I was also already over leveled so I didn't get knocked out by the psycodemons this time! (I did the first time I played the game via Origins on the PS1...) I remember that I didn't save for a bit before that too so that wasn't fun!
Not saving or forgetting always sucks. Yeah, I love how I can blitz all the FF pixel remasters with no encounters and extra exp.

I made some more progress today! I easily defeated Astos, after returning to the Western Keep with the crown. Honestly I remember having more issues with the Psychodemons in my first playthrough lol. Then I got Matoya's crystal eye and returned it to her, then I got the potion and gave it to the prince. I got the mystic key and went around a few areas that needed the mystic key to access. Now I have the nitro powder so I need to return to Mount Duergar to continue the story.

I just made it to Mount Gulg but I'm going to grind before I take on Marilith. Prior to that I restored the Earth Crystal's light, so I'm making progress! I honestly didn't come into that fight prepared, but I managed to win somehow lol.

Some times luck is half the battle and its what will get you through.

Yep! Funny enough I barely beat Marilith even though I did grind a little bit. I literally was spamming phoenix downs, hi potions, and curaga like crazy on my party members. I kind of wish I had a white mage in my party though, but I don't. I know eventually I can upgrade my characters and the Red Mage can learn more spells once he's promoted to Red Wizard but that won't be for a little bit.

You can get away without a magic healer if you have the items, but that gets pricey after awhile.

Yeah it definitely can. I've got lots of GIL saved though thankfully since I wasn't buying too many items at the beginning and I found lots in chests. I just got the air ship in the game! I think I'm a bit overlevled still for this part of the game because it was super easy to get the Levistone since I got a preemptive strike against the Evil Eye lol.

Nice, getting the airship makes it a bit fun flying all over the world :)

It definitely is tons of fun flying around the world lol. Makes traveling much easier too! I just promoted my party members! I have a Knight, Red Wizard, Ninja, and Master now! I also got the warp cube too.
