How Do RPGs Effectively Handle Morality and Player Choice?

Post by 1stop »

I find that it's very rare for RPGs to shy away from rather heavy themes involving morality which most often puts them in a somewhat serious spotlight. The Witcher and Fallout are just some examples that tackle such serious issues. The depth they add to the game world makes a big difference and it's what most players cherished.

I try to make the right choices or something less heartache. I think the first time I ran into this was FF 6 with choices needed to be made in world of ruin.

Player choice and morality in RPGs can be majorly influential. There are some games such as The Witcher and Fallout, which really do this well by giving the player tough choices.

I do love it when a RPG has choices and those choices change the outcome of the storyline. I wish my favorite RPG had this, but alas it doesn't. (Legend of Legaia) It really puts you in the shoes of the protagonists.

Maybe they will do that if we ever get another in the Legaia series.

They sort of did this in the sequel, but unfortunately the choices don't change the ending lol. But it would be cool to see in a new game in the series though!
